Art created on unique piece of framed real Turkish Travertine Stone.

This ceramic-tile, cedar-ceiling public fountain is one of the more beautiful and historic of its kind in Fez el-Bali. The first fountain down from Bab Boujeloud, Fontaine Nejjarine seems a miniature version of the Nejjarine fondouk. with its geometrically decorated tiles and intricately carved cedar eaves overhead . This form of Islamic art is one of the main characteristics of Moroccan architecture. It consists of geometrically patternedmosaics, used to ornament walls, ceilings, fountains, floors, pools and tables.

The cities of Fes, Marrakesh and Meknes in Morocco, remain the centres of this art.

This framework of expression arose from the need of Islamic artists to create spatial decorations that avoided depictions of living things, consistent with the teachings of Islamic law.
